Alzheimer's Australia is the peak body providing support and advocay for the more than 250,000 Australians living with dementia. Alzheimer's Australia also develops training and services to support those who assist with the sufferers of dementia.
Dementia is a collection of symptoms caused by any one of a variety of disorders to the brain. It more commonly affects older people however younger people caan be at risk too. There is currently no cure or prevention for most types of dementia, making support for people with dementia and their families of vital importance to ensuring quality of life. With Australia's population aging at a very fast rate, dementia is looming as a major twenty-first century health challenge.
Purslowe Funerals will support Alzheimer's Australia through the creation and delivery of specialised training courses. Drawing on Purslowe Funerals experience in bereavement and loss, training programs on understanding grief and loss and on communicating with grieving people will be delivered to families, practitioners and volunteers.
Additionally, Purslowe Funerals will also support Alzheimer's Australia through participation in fund raising as well as through attendance at Alzheimer's Australia events, The Memory Walk and the Corporate Golf Day.
